Search Douglas County Court Dockets

A Douglas County court docket is the running index of a Washington case, from its first filing through hearings, orders, and disposition. To search the Douglas County court docket, first identify whether the matter belongs in Superior, District, or Municipal Court. Public case information appears through state and county-linked tools, while the court clerk holds the official file. Posted calendars can help locate a hearing, but later changes may not appear online. A sound Douglas County docket search pairs the right court system with direct clerk confirmation when a date, document, or certified record matters.

Keep the two tiles straight, because a broad case search and a hearing search answer different docket questions. Results cap at 200 records, so apply a location or date filter before you search.

Inside a Douglas County Court Docket

Think of a docket as an index rather than the full file. It names the court, filing date, cause number, case type, parties, counsel, judicial officer, events, hearings, and disposition. Money entries may involve bail, judgments, restitution, or legal financial obligations. Douglas County calendar shorthand includes L&M for law and motion, DPA for deputy prosecuting attorney, and prelim for preliminary appearance. CCRJ shows up as a local label. The court publishes no official expansion of it.

Cause numberA local key such as 26-1-00028-09, used here only as a format example.
Party blockPublic parties, counsel, or prosecutor data.
EventsFilings, service, motions, orders, pleas, judgments, and appeals in date order.
Hearing blockDate, time, room or Zoom room, judge, setting, counsel, and note.
DispositionResult or closing status, best checked against the signed order.
DocumentThe complaint, motion, order, or judgment behind an entry.

Douglas County runs Odyssey case information without Odyssey Document Management. That is why a public event can appear with no downloadable image behind it. Read the chronology oldest to newest. Then zero in on the last entered order and the next hearing. A continuance, reset, status conference, readiness setting, or review hearing usually signals a live case. A trial-setting entry schedules work but reports no verdict. A hearing labeled dismissal is not the same as an entered dismissal order. When that gap matters, request the signed paper. That goes for your own case or a public proceeding you follow.

Courts That Keep Dockets in Douglas County

Place and jurisdiction split the record keeping in Douglas County. Superior Court and the elected County Clerk sit in Waterville. District and Juvenile Courts operate out of East Wenatchee. East Wenatchee Municipal Court stands separate from both. The state directory sends Bridgeport, Rock Island, and Waterville municipal matters to Douglas District Court. It lists no separate Mansfield Municipal Court.

Douglas County falls under the Washington Court of Appeals, Division Three. Federal matters run on separate tracks through the Eastern District of Washington, its Bankruptcy Court, and federal systems.

District Court does hold felony preliminary hearings. Yet it does not keep the later felony trial docket. Once a felony moves forward in Superior Court, Odyssey and the County Clerk become the main routes. An appeal can spawn a second record at a higher court. So find the court of origin. Do not assume one case number, clerk, or search tool holds the whole procedural history.

Douglas County Filing Is Not Search

TrueFiling submits documents to Superior Court, but it is not a public docket browser. County instructions require separate PDFs. A $5 convenience fee applies per bundle, and anything filed after 4:00 p.m. gets the next business day's stamp. Accepted items stay linked for 90 days under those instructions.

Odyssey displays case information only. For the papers themselves, use the Clerk's online request page or contact the office directly. The Douglas registration sheet also mentions an annual OnBase subscription while stating no current rate. Registered Odyssey access costs a $25 processing fee. It can take two weeks. It still grants no general document access.

Key distinction: TrueFiling sends papers to court, Odyssey shows case data, and the Clerk supplies official documents behind the entries.

How to Find Court Dates and Settings

Superior Court settings live in two places: Odyssey Search Hearings and the weekday PDFs. Each sheet lists the calendar type and date. Time, judge or commissioner, cause number, case name, hearing, counsel, DPA, and any note appear too. Expect labels like status conference, review, omnibus, and readiness. Arraignment, sentencing, trial setting, show cause, protection order, and special set round out the list. A label is just an event. It does not tell you the result.

District and Municipal Court work differently. Use Find My Court Date, Search Case Records, or the clerk by phone or counter. The Tyler page finds eligible limited-jurisdiction matters by citation, license, or name. If sources conflict, trust the latest signed order or a direct instruction. The Douglas County court dates resource walks through the full date check.

Douglas County Docket Posting Cutoffs

The Douglas County Superior Court Docket posts weekday PDFs. The deadline is 1:00 p.m. the day before. Preliminary appearances go up by 9:00 a.m. that morning. Anything changed after those cutoffs may never show. The Clerk also disclaims responsibility if you miss a date relying on the site alone.

That official calendar page groups its weekday sheets and carries the warning itself. The county calendar landing page shows both.

That PDF freezes the docket at one moment. If a reset, a special setting, or an appearance mode leaves you unsure, call 509-745-9063 or email courtadministrator@co.douglas.wa.gov for the current Douglas County court schedule. Unless the court orders you to appear in person, proceedings run by Zoom.

Public Access to Court Dockets

Washington court records are open as a rule, with exceptions. Sealed matters, juvenile files, protected family and guardianship source records, health data, and personal identifiers may be withheld or redacted. So an index can show a case while hiding parts of it.

Key rules:

GR 31 access materials state the broad open-record presumption.

GR 15 governs sealing, destruction, and redaction.

GR 22 restricts specified family and guardianship source records.

RCW 13.50 controls juvenile record confidentiality and sealing.

The Washington Public Records Act governs agency records generally. Douglas County, though, says court case files do not go through its ordinary county request route.

Douglas County Docket Request Channels

Superior Court users have several routes into a docket. They can search Odyssey, read the PDFs, send the online document request, phone or mail the County Clerk, or visit the Waterville counter. District Court users can submit the official form. They can also call the clerk or go to the East Wenatchee counter. That District form offers counter pickup, email, and fax for eligible records. East Wenatchee Municipal Court wants its own signed court form by mail, delivery, or fax straight to that court. Certified municipal copies cannot be emailed or faxed. The county documents no Douglas-specific public kiosk, so lean on the counter and phone. Older paper, minute-book, index, or microfilm records need clerk help too. The general county Public Records Officer handles administrative records, not judicial files.

Where you go in person depends on the case. Superior Court and the County Clerk sit at 203 S Rainier Street in Waterville. District Court is at 100 19th Street NW, Suite C, East Wenatchee. Reach it at 509-884-3536 or dcdcew@co.douglas.wa.us. East Wenatchee Municipal Court sits at 271 9th Street NE and answers 509-884-0680. A quick call can confirm who holds the file. Ask about its access status, the current charge, and delivery options before you drive over or mail anything.

Douglas County Docket Technology Timeline

The buildings tell part of the story. The Waterville courthouse dates to 1905. The Public Services Building came in 2003, and the East Wenatchee Law and Justice Building followed in 2019. Superior Court and its Clerk stay in Waterville. District and Juvenile offices run from East Wenatchee. Online access does not mean every old file is digitized.

The systems moved fast recently. Odyssey now holds Superior case information, TrueFiling receives submissions, and the Clerk controls documents. Douglas District and East Wenatchee Municipal became CLJ-EJ, or Enterprise Justice, early adopters. That switch happened on October 26, 2024. AOC warns October 2024 reports may be undercounted during the move. A future Treatment Court was discussed in 2026. Yet the official directory still lists no Douglas County problem-solving court.

Docket Records at the Clerk's Office

Jenn Biggar is the County Clerk. Her office preserves Superior Court files and minutes across civil, criminal, domestic, adoption, juvenile, probate, paternity, and mental-illness matters. Staff can share case status, general procedure, rules, schedule data, and approved forms. That applies unless access is restricted. They cannot give legal advice, interpret papers, pick a claim, or fill out forms.

Copy costs come from the June 11, 2026 fee schedule. Plain court copies run $0.50 per page. Certified copies cost $5 for the first page plus $1 per added page. Recorded proceedings run $25 per court date. Special searches bill at $30 per hour. Confirm your total before ordering.

Douglas County Docket by the Numbers

Washington AOC counted 1,060 Douglas Superior filings for 2025. That figure includes 126 criminal and 627 civil filings. Domestic, probate, guardianship, adoption or parentage, mental-illness, and juvenile categories fill out the rest of the row.

1,060Total filings
627Civil filings
677Civil resolutions
153Active pending civil cases

The civil report shows 87.44 percent resolved within 12 months. Another 92.47 percent cleared within 18 months, and 94.68 percent within 24 months. Twenty-two cases ran over 24 months. These are workload figures, not claims about any party. A separate resolution report counts 677 non-trial resolutions and no trial resolutions that reporting year. Filings, resolutions, pending matters, and trials track different events. Never merge the totals or use them to guess the path of a specific Douglas County case.
